Broadkill beach is located 4 miles east of Route 1, and to enter the community you pass by a first-class golf course, the Rookery, and it's restaurant both of which are open to the public. Then you drive through Primehook Federal Wildlife Refuge with its broad expanse of grasses and marsh ponds -- a nature lover and birdwatcher's and nature lover's delight. Three miles west at Rt 1 and 16, is the charming town of Milton, DE with it's many historic houses, resturants, and small shopping center. Nine miles south on Rt 1, you reach the Lewes, De area with the Cape May-Lewes Ferry,
